The Broath.

This blog will refer to the aforementioned title of a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother. The premise of the episode is based on an oath, or broath Barney makes with his best mate, Ted.
The episode got me thinking about the concept of broaths. What exactly are they? Well they share the same concept as an ‘oath’, however they are restricted between ‘bro’s’. Hence the term ‘broath’.
So what are some popular broaths? The one that comes immediately to mind is a sacred pact many guys all over the world make. The traditional: bros before hoes. To translate, a male will always choose his male counterparts over a woman.
Surely limitations exist with this particular broath? For example, what does a male, in this case Bob, do when he is married to his wife, Wendy? Maybe in a perfect world that only he can dream of, he would choose his male friends over Wendy. Realistically, if he were to do that, he would be spending the night outside of the house.
Can bros also be female? Traditionally, no. But in more recent times the concept has been extended to include girls as well. Yay for the women. Not yay for Wendy, if Bob decides to spend his Saturday night with his bros who happen to be female.
The only advice I have for my fellow bros is: be careful what you ‘broath’ for.
